It has been a grueling semester doing Chauntea’s work, but it was very rewording. There is something to be said about working with your hands; nurturing these plants from seeds to corn for food, or flowers of immense beauty. Nothing can compare to the garden back home, but I suppose that is the work of training to be a priest of Chauntea. It was mail day, and I had long since given up on receiving a letter as I had no real friends or family from my home, but today would surprise me
Zane,
It has been many, many moons since you left for your priestly studies, but I must call you back for I have found the love of my life in a warrior woman known as Janice. She is strong willed and needs no man to protect her. I value this quality the most as my vow of non-violence makes defending that which I care deepest more difficult. By the time this letter reaches you I hope to have a wedding date selected and would like to have my star pupil witness this most momentous event.
Your Master, mentor, and friend,
Jonas
I informed the headmaster of my letter of being recalled back home. I was granted an extended leave. I packed up and headed out; joining a small caravan of people for a very fair price. I blessed their horses and gave them some pointers on how to farm more efficiently. They seemed very grateful. Off we went.
