Perhaps one of my favorite cookies all time. This recipe is old and this variation I believe was handed to me by Kristen Bird.
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 Tablespoon Milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Cream together 1/2 cup button and 1/2 cup peanut butter. Gradually add 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Cream well. Add 1 unbeaten egg, 2 tablespoon milk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Beat well. Blend in 1 and 3/4 cup flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Shape into balls, roll in sugar, place on non-greased cookie sheet. Bake 375 degrees for 6.5 minutes, remove and place a chocolate kiss on top of each pressing down so that the cookie cracks around the edge. Return to the over 1 minute longer.
